The Waney family remain passionate about delivering our vision of a cataract free Bihar and together with the Savitri team and our partners in India, we are working on plans to turn this vision into a reality.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of guests at our gala dinner and auction last year, together we raised a huge amount to go directly towards eyecare projects in India.

The donations made us ask what more we could do to reach out into even poorer under served regions and after months of very careful investigation and planning I am pleased to say that we have committed to building a new 40 bed eye hospital to serve the remotest parts of Bihar.

The following picture is from my recent visit to Purnea where I joined the Akhand Jyoti team for a beautiful pujah to mark the Foundation Stone laying at the site of the newly proposed hospital.
