In addition to our key project areas, each year our trustees choose to support a number of UK charities working both in the UK and overseas. These donations are made on a discretionary basis and generally take the form of a one-off, unrestricted donation. Details of some of these recipients are outlined below.
The International Rescue Committee
The IRC help respond to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and help people survive, recover and reclaim control of their future. We supported their work in 2015 towards the refugee crisis in Lesvos. Work included providing immediate shelter and emergency supplies to arrivals on the northern coast and protection, information and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities and services throughout their journey.
Mèdecins sans Frontières (MSF)
MSF help people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare. Our most recent donation went towards the 2014 emergency appeal for the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
Marie Curie Cancer Trust
Marie Curie provide care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. They offer expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left. We supported them in 2014 with a general donation.
The Royal Marines Charity
The Royal Marines Charity is integrated and unified, aiming to provide the best possible support for marines and their families through all stages of life.
CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people. They provide vital emotional, practical and financial support to young cancer patients and families during and after treatment.
